North Devon offers fantastic opportunities for walking with our dramatic coastal and moorland scenery and Lower Campscott is a great base for walking holidays. There are several footpaths criss-crossing the farm so you don’t have to drive anywhere to start your walking adventures. Take the footpath from the farm to Lee Bay and join the South West Coast Path, then choose whether to walk North towards Ilfracombe and Combe Martin or South towards Mortehoe and Woolacombe. You could make it a circular walk by heading back inland or do a day’s walking along the coast and head back to the farm by taxi.
Exmoor is just a short drive away and stunning at any time of the year. Park at Hunter’s Inn and take an easy walk along the stream to Heddon’s Mouth or the more challenging climb up the side of the valley, along the SW Coast path then loop back through Trentishoe – you’ll definitely have earned a cuppa and a slice of home baked cake or even a hearty meal chased down by a glass of local ale.
We welcome groups of walkers and ramblers – our cottages and lodges can sleep up to 40 people and may be booked in any combination to accommodate the group. Everyone can get together in the Old Dairy function room for shared meals, evening film shows or simply to discuss the day’s activities and make plans for tomorrow. Wet gear can be dried in our drying room, we’ve oodles of piping hot water from our big green biomass boiler for welcome hot showers and the cottages and lodges are cosy and warm all year round. So if you are a member of a local
Ramblers club or just fancy getting together with a few friends for a walking holiday do contact us and have a chat about what we can offer.
