After a fantastic week of glorious sunshine during October half term, when Lower Campscott was filled with lots of happy guests enjoying the unseasonably warm weather and a lovely quiet Woolacombe beach, we closed for the winter.
Traditionally this is a time for reflection and planning for us, it’s also a time for building projects and developments in the holiday cottages and lodges. On this winter’s list is the creation of enclosed terrace gardens for Fuchsia & Hydrangea cottages which will mean each has their own private outside space – ideal for those with young children and dog owners too.
A new lodge will be arriving soon to replace the old mobile home, Larchtree. Sleeping 5 in 3 bedrooms and with 2 bath/shower rooms it will be a great addition. For groups making a whole site booking our capacity will be increased to 40 in total plus cots & dogs too or course. Once the lodge has been installed, Gill will be kept busy creating a landscaped garden to surround the new Larchtree.
The most exciting project for us this winter is going to be the renovation & refurbishment of our own home. The builders are here and have started taking down all the weird and wonderful add-ons & lean-to extensions that have been built over the years. Once these are dismantled they will begin to dig the footings for a family kitchen and dining room on the ground floor with a brand new master bedroom above. After all the renovations that we have done on the cottages and lodges since our arrival here 7 years ago it’s finally our turn and we’re really looking forward to it!!
