Easter is always a wonderful time at Lower Campscott Farm. It’s the start of the season for us and we’ve welcomed baby goats, calves, lambs and rabbits to the farm and of course our lovely guests to the holiday cottages.
It’s been a pleasure greeting old friends and new and seeing them enjoy the farm. Storm Katy arrived too bringing wet and windy weather; there was some respite though with even the odd spell of sunshine so in spite of her (Katie), 2 families barbequed outside and cooked Lower Campscott sausages and steaks.
There have been many happy walks to the beach at Lee, always fun at low tide with its rock pools and smugglers’ path to Sandy Cove and popular with kayakers as well. Woolacombe has been popular too with its long stretch of golden sand, dog friendly and ideal for a good walk after all those chocolate eggs.
In the farm kitchen Kathy has been busy cooking up tasty lasagnes, casseroles and cottage pies, the shop has been restocked and Tony is keeping our guests entertained with his farm tours and animal feeding. Gypsy the Shetland pony is pleased to be receiving lots of attention as she loves being groomed and led around the farm – it’s a welcome break from trying to keep those cheeky scamps Tiny and Pip in line!
So after the quiet of winter when we refurbish and redecorate the cottages we’re well and truly back into the swing of things with lots more visitors to look forward to and the welcome return of sunshine and blue skies too.
