At Lower Campscott Farm, one of our core values is keeping our environmental impact as low as possible, and our farm shops showcase of some of the wonderful food in Devon is no different. From using renewable fuel in our biomass boiler to setting up a clever ‘pump and return’ system to reduce water waste, we’re always looking for ways to care for the planet. We also work closely with the Soil Association to maintain our Organic certification—something we’re really proud of.
Our on-site farm shop is another way we stay true to our ethos. It’s packed with local goodies that celebrate the best of Devon, all while keeping food miles to a minimum.
Whether it’s organic fruit and veg, honey, chutneys, cider, or our own organic meat, we make sure everything we stock is top quality and responsibly sourced.
One of our longest-standing partnerships is with Brendan Hill, who create a mouthwatering range of jams, chutneys, and preserves. Guests get a taste of their delicious jams in the welcome cream tea we provide—served with fresh local scones, of course! And if you’re feeling adventurous, keep an eye out for their more unusual flavours like Chuckleberry, Whortleberry, or the delightfully named Dumpsy Dearie (a spiced blend of apples, pears, and plums).
Another favourite is Farmer Tom’s ice cream from Dunstaple Farm in Holsworthy, just under 40 miles away. Their ice cream is a huge hit with kids (and adults!) thanks to a wide range of flavours. In our household, we still can’t agree on a winner between Coconut Cream and Eton Mess—it’s a friendly debate that shows no signs of ending!
Another gem we’re proud to support is Hakeford Woods, a nearby charity offering woodland courses and wellbeing programmes for local communities.
They also provide us with some of the best barbecue charcoal we’ve ever used—perfect for summer evenings outdoors. Supporting sustainable forest crafts is right up our alley, and their charcoal is a great fit for our shop.

We also love supporting local breweries and cider makers. Red Rock Brewery in Mid Devon sends us a great selection of craft beers, and Shipwrecked Cider—made just down the road in Mortehoe—brings a taste of Devon’s rich cider-making tradition right to our shelves.
And that’s just the beginning. You’ll also find artwork from talented local artists, fudge from nearby dairies, classic sticks of rock, scrumptious cakes and brownies, and lots more.
So if you’re interested in sampling some of the best food in Devon, or are simply looking for the perfect base to explore our wonderful county, why not head over to our booking page for an up-to-date view of the current availability?
